THE RECOGNITION

Blecua 2000

In the Wines Yearbook of El País 2003, Javier Rueda changes the rating criteria and gives “5 grape bunches” to the best wines. Blecua 2000 is one of the highlighted, “If vintage 98 was a hint of what this wine sets out to be, vintage 2000 is the consolidation, a wine which comforts the soul and calms the spirit...”.

The Red Guide of TodoVino considers Blecua 2000 one of the 30 best wines made in Spain giving it the exceptional and maximum rating of “3 lacres” and it says “it is an authentic château in Somontano, devoted to a unique wine with a limited production, which has set everybody off talking about Blecua in a very short period of time, thanks to the seriousness of the project and its aim of high quality”.

Once again the Guide Campsa 2003 sets Blecua 2000 in the “Honors board of the best Spanish Wines” with 92/100 points.

The Vice-president of the Wine Writers Circle from Canada, Irving Wolkoff, rates Blecua 2000 with 92+ and states “... you can not pass it up...”.

The Golden Guide of the Best Wines from Spain 2003 awards Blecua 2000 with a Golden Medal, “everything in the winery is impeccable to make an outstanding wine with its own personality. After skipping vintage 1999, because it didn’t get the quality standards that Pedro Aibar wants for this wine, vintage 2000 has appeared”.

The guide 365 wines a year by Jesús Flores describes Blecua 2000 as “a very interesting wine that is powerful at the time that elegant, as well as fruity, gentle and full-bodied”.
